Injured kitty help

Does anyone know how to treat a cut on a cats tongue my baby bit his
tongue and I dont know what to do how, can i stop the bleeding and are there any remedies to help him heal faster? Ive never dealt with this type of injury before will the wound close by itself or will a Veterinarian have to do it. Im unemployed right now and cannot get to the Veterinarian. nor can I afford it. Its not a large cut just about an inch but its right by one of his encisors Im worried he wont eat. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im definetly out of my league here.
