Default Any success with Kitty Dialysis?

My 12 yr old persian is in Kidney failure according to bloodwork results. I agreed to begin the treatment today for 3 days, it was that or put her down. I was not emotionally prepared for that! My Husband (not a cat lover) let me decide but did state that if this only band-aids for a few months then obviously this is not something we could keep doing because this is costing about 600.00 and I spent 250 for the visit and bloodwork. At least this way we know that we did try.
The Dr. said it could help for a longer period it is a gamble.
Anyone have previous experience with this scenario? What was the outcome?
Thanks for your replies.

Hi! I'm Abiah I also love pets especially cat. I am so much concern regarding your cat.

Based on what I read in some books and in browsing through internet I found that if the cat diagnosed with kidney damage, the Veterinarian first course of action is to give meds and fluids to restore hydration and electrolytes imbalances.

Dialysis, only prolongs a cat's life. While waiting for a kidney transplant, it improves a cat's survival rate. Surgery is the only way to save your cat from acute or chronic renal failure.
