I lost my 11 year old kitty to cancer in October. My 12 year old isn't doing well. She's recently lost A LOT of weight - in just a couple weeks. Because the two cats had never really been apart - the Veterinarian suggested we get another friend for her. Well - Modem - my 12 year old just doesn't like the baby. The baby is a very lively and antagonizes Modem.
Mo's coat is loosing her shine, I can feel her bones, her hair is falling out - but what is most upsetting is that she is laying in her litter box and she sits on top of her water bowl - but won't drink. When the baby comes any where near her - she growls. She won't get in the bed with me anymore - even if I put her there - she won't stay. She is just miserable. Our Veterinarian has been closed since Saturday - we're going tomorrow - but I'm just inside out over the thought of losing both my girls so closely together. I love the baby - but I've had Modem even longer than my daughter..... Any ideas? |

Hi,
I wonder if your cat has hyperthyroid? My cat lost a lot of weight very quickly and his coat was unkempt. Those are both signs of hyperthyroidism. Visit this link for more info: Hyperthyroidism |
