Hello,
4 months ago my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He is on Tapezole, which has stabalized his weight. But a new problem has started and we wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with this. My cat's body contracts and relaxes - the sides of his stomach (right above his hind legs) expand and contract all the time. It also happens in his chest and throat, and sometimes it causes his mouth to open and close. It's almost like he's a fish out of water, gasping for breath. But he doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort. It's disturbing to watch, and very worrisome. Does anyone know what this is?? |

well i also face some related issue like this with my cats, of the 5 i have (all aged within 1-3 yrs) wen they are asleep, they twitch theirhands and legs suddenly, which i thought is probably cause they are disturbed by sum loud noise or movement. but on further observation, i have noticed, its not related to the noise disturbances, even when theres no noise or movement they tend to twitch and this is prevalent in all 5 of em.. is it normal? or have i been ignoring sum vital signs of discomfort for my babies

Mine is on the same meds, but I haven't experienced anything like that. Since he is on those meds, I think it may be worth at least a phone call to the Veterinarian. Maybe that's one of the side effects of the meds??? Please keep me informed. |
