Confused Help! worried to death...

I came home from work today, and my roomie left me a note that my BabyBoyKitty had been throwing up and not his usual self...(she's not an animal person like I am)...so I checked him out,,,his nose is dry, he is a little warm but not hot, but he had gone to the bathroom and his stools were soft and there was a little blood next to them...he isn't crying or anything..drinks water well, doesn't meow in complaint when I pick him up...
I called the Veterinarian but they wanted 250 to see him after hours but can see me the first thing in the am for the usual office fee...I am sure there will be extra stuff there also...
Any suggestions?

I did finally get him to the Veterinarian. The Veterinarian said that he is fine, that he just had too much bacteria in his stool. Kind of like having an upset tummy in peoples terms. He also had an upper respiratory infection. The Veterinarian gave me some medicine for both the upset tummy & upper respiratory infection and my boo bear seems just fine now. He actually started feeling better the very next day. I would still suggest that you take your cat to the Veterinarian as it could be something different. Thanks for responding!! Baby Boo's mom
