Default Help one fat cat!

I have 2 cats one is 10 years old and the other is 9 months. The kitten is on Science Diet Kitten Chow and the older one has decided he likes it better than his urinary tract food. He has gained a tremendous amount of weight. In the past three days I have tried to get them to only eat their food and have taken the food away when I am not home. Today they both have upset tummies. The kitten has taken to eating his food and he is always trying to eat her food or the dog's food. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am ready to just go back to where we were but I am concerned about his weight gain

is it possible to feed them seperately? i.e. close the door on whichever pet is being fed and let them out when they're done eating?

My cats used to do the same thing. I have to separate them during feeding times and monitor them. One started losing a ton of weight while the other kept getting fatter. When my youngest would go to my oldest ones bowl, the oldest would just move and let him eat it. So, I had to put my youngest in a different room and close the door until they are done. It works great now! They are both very comfortable with the situation and seem to enjoy meal times more.
