I'm a little confused about this- how are people able to tell that it was the tainted food that caused the problems that resulted in the deaths of these animals? And not just a genetic predeposition towards the illness they died from. One of my kitties just died recently.

Default myangelbabies

Please bear with me, I'm new at this site. Firstly, my heart goes out to you for your loss, I've had many a great pet and every loss has been just as great. I understand your confusion of "How do you know" if it was the fault of the tainted food or just an unfortunate event that was going to happen anyway. No way of telling. However, with the multiple complaints and simular situations, my judgement would probably lean toward the tainted food. If your kitty was healthy prior to feeding whichever brand of food which was listed. In any event, I am so sorry for your loss. This situation has opened my eyes much more than normal. I plan to prepare foods for my pets and take it out of the hands of large corporations and the possibility of this situation occuring again.

I know what you mean, wanting to prepare your babies' foods yourself so as to remove the worry of what the large corporations are putting in the cans. I don't know if you know of the website: Natures Healthy Pet Home but when you sign up for the newsletter, you will get access to an ebook of many healthy foods and/or treats for your pets - foods you make yourself. I'm quite impressed with the information that's available.

To latergatorj - I am so sorry for your loss. I have 11 cats and the loss of any one of them would be devastating. My son and daughter-in-law have 18 cats - they lost one a year ago to cancer and it just about killed them. Plus 2 others have gone through life-threatening illnesses - one is cured and the other is still fighting. We love their kitties as our own so yes, I can well sympathize.

thank you. I've been having a really hard time. It's difficult for me to believe that she's gone. Abby was a beautiful burmese and I had her for 11 years.

I have one kitty left- Ranger is 19 years old and I got him 7 years ago when my grandma died.

Very beautiful cat! Sorry for your loss, it is NEVER easy to loose someone we love, even if that someone has four legs.
