Default 2 y/o cat, fracture or bone cancer? Please comment

About a week ago my cat stopped jumping up on the counter. In the days that followed she developed a bad limp in her back left leg. She was x-rayed yesterday, which showed a slight something in the joint of her lame leg, a little darkening that is barely visible. The Veterinarian said that if she were a much older cat she would consider bone cancer a possibility (my cat is not quite 2 y/o). The other possibility is that she has a healing fracture. She received an anti-inflammatory shot to the area yesterday but today she is still in pain, limping, crying if I touch the area, etc. She is not bathing as much as she usually does. She still has an appetite but she seems to be losing weight.

My question is, has anyone here known a young cat to exhibit these symptoms, and if so, what were they caused by? Does anyone know of any statistics concerning the ages of cats with bone cancer?

Thank you!

(The Veterinarian is having me bring her back in a month for more x-rays.)

Feline Bone Cancer occurs when a tumor grows and spreads inside the bone. The most common type is called osteosarcoma. This is a RARE condition. Symptoms of feline bone cancer include swelling in the leg or a limp. Does you cat have these symptoms?

To have a coherent result, send your cat to the Veterinarian clinic immediately.
