Please help!!

my cat is constantly itching and licking this spot on her back that is right inbetween her shoulder blades to the point where there isn't any hair there and it's bleeding a tad bit... it's like raw skin... the spot is now the size of a silver dollar. she's gotten a lil better (this has been going on for 3 days, but just got worse last night), but i was wondering what i could do to make it stop or to get her to stop messing with it... my mom, who works at a vets, said that it's probably allergies... what should i do? she wont take medicine and it's in a next to impossible spot to wrap up, and wonce i try, she wont let me touch her again, which probably means it hurts her a lot... PLEASE help me figure out how to help her... she's about 9 months old. thanks!

I think it would be a good idea to try and take her to ur Veterinarian, like ur mom said, it could probably be sum allergy still she would need sum medication to cure it.. cant think of any home remedy which would help u... run her to the Veterinarian, and put her out of her misery, and yeah btw, do share the Veterinarian's opinion and ur babies progress with us...

Try giving your kitty a bath with cat shampoo that is formulated with oatmeal and which is labeled as hypoallogenic. That should relieve the itching somewhat.

Do not use human shampoo... Make sure you get shampoo that is made for cats. The reason for this is, cats need a certain level of oils in their fur- it helps them fight off illnesses and disease. Shampoo not made for cats- strips all the oil from their fur.

Like the previous poster, I also recommend going to the Veterinarian to have it checked out and perhaps biopsied. Sores can sometimes indicate cancer. But it most likely... is an allergy. The Veterinarian could also recommend getting a halo to prevent your kitty from licking the area while it heals.
