Angry Help-Neighbor's Cat Worrying Me to Death

Hi,

The neighbor's cat, who I adore, starting chewing funny this week. He seems to open his mouth very wide when trying to eat, and then when he tries to close his mouth, I noticed jaw spasms. The neighbor said that they have seen this behavior before, and the Veterinarian thought it was a hairball. I don't think so. I think he has a dental problem, or worse.

Has anyone noticed this type of behavior in their cat?

Thanks.

Concerned neighbor.

My cats sometimes do that when they have a hairball....For what it's worth.
