problem with scarlett

My cat scarlett is getting on in years but recently we have noticed that although her behavior has not changed, she is still feisty, walks around like she owns the neighborhood and holllers at us for food scraps, she is becoming thing around the rear and also her hair has started to clump. Up until this point she has taken very good are ofher coat and now she does not. She is dirty and like I say her hair is clumped. She is not in any pain and eats but is very particular about what she eats, any suggestions?

Hi there, my cat (who is 20) had the same symptoms you are describing, and I had her checked and was told she had an overactive thyroid. Once she was on medication, she again returned to grooming herself. Just a thought...
