Confused Cat making whinning sound

My cat had 3 kittens 10-11 days ago. All went well and the kittens are healthy but the mom whines a lot of the time. She seems fine, she plays and takes care of the kittens well but she constantly makes this whinning noise. It is not really a meow. She is eatting and drinking normally and very attentive to the kittens needs.
I am brand new to having cats. We rescued her from a divorce situation and she delivered 2 weeks later.
Anyone out there with experience with this?
Thanks,
Spechele

Have you taken the mother kitty and kittens to the Veterinarian?

Default What does it sound like?

My cat used to somewhat whine when she was content. But I curious is it a low yowl, a painful whine, a purring whine (towards the kittens maybe), what is she doing when she does this? All the little things could answer this for you. And a big one, is she licking her area's a lot, does she smell?
I have had a few cats have kittens and they act do act differently with kittens than without. But there are things to watch for, and things you can check your self... Check her abdomin for any pain, (does she flinch when you push very gently?)
Also if she is an indoor cat (sounds grose but...) check her litter box and see what her stools are like, and is there blood in her pee ect. Let us know and we can do our best.
Also if she is not an indoor cat Get her fixed, even if she is you should, other wise her yowling will drive you insane!
If any of these things apply to your cat though definately take her to the Veterinarian!

Default Thanks

Thank you for responding. She is still making these noises but I am beginning to think it may just be her chatting or something. She doesn't flinch when I touch her. She loves her somach rubbeded.
I plan on taking her in for shots, and to get her fixed when the kittens are weaned. I would rather do it all at one time.
She runs around playing and seems fine except that noise. She makes it at the same time she is purring sometimes too. But she didn't make this noise until after the babies were born. I wonder if he is just talking to them to let them know she is there?
She is a great cat.

Talking Sounds ok

Well she sounds fine to me, just like my peaches, I think she is just talking
Good on you to be taking her in for shots and fixing! I agree there is no point in doing these things in seperate visits to the Veterinarian! And if she is in no pain then I beleive she good to go!
btw she is always going to be a little different now that she has had kittens though just a little, I think it makes them more mature or something! (btw I am no pro or Veterinarian this is all just from my own experiences with my own cats!)
Congrats on the kittens! If you have a digital camera you should post a pic or too kittens are always so cute, I bet everyone would love to see them!
Peace
