Default im new here and worried about my kitty

Penguin is almost 1. about a month ago he got into his first cat fight outside, i wasnt home but my husband seen it. luckly the pack my cat hangs out with is dogs and chased the other cat off. since then he hasnt been the same. he doesnt go outside anymore. he will just sit in the window and stare. at first he was sore and when i would pick him up to see he would get mad at me but thats stopped, he will let me carry him around again. but he still sleeps all day, just gets up to drink bathroom and eat. he has no interest in play and sorta mopes around, kinda like he is depressed. can cats get depressed? only time he gets happy is when it is snack time and thats his tuna. the other day i took him outside and just carried him around to get fresh air and he got very ticked off at me. didnt want to have anything to do with playing outside. im so worried about him. should i take him to the Veterinarian for this?

Yes, you should take him to the Veterinarian to make sure he didn't catch a virus or something from the other cat. Cat scratches can be very nasty.

But you should also be very happy that your cat wants to be indoors now. Indoor cats are healthier and safer than outdoor cats. Penguin will live a much longer healthier life as an indoor kitty and if you give him good quality play time, he will be just as happy.

Yes. Kitties can get depressed. And yes, Vets are able to treat this with medication.
