Unhappy New here and need some help if possible?

I am concerned about my kitty. He is over a year old, and has been an inside cat for the whole time I have had him. The weather has just become nice and I have decided to let him go outside. He goes out for a couple of hours and comes back all day long. And seems fine, I can call him and he usually comes running.
One thing that has changed though is he will not use his litter box any more.He has started going to the bathroom under the kitchen table there was a rug there until I removed it, but he then went to the bathroom ON the seat at the table. I have no idea what to do about this, he is all good with his shots and doent seem sick at all in anyway, so I dont think that is the problem... Any suggestions???

Wish I could help, all my cats are STRICT indoor only cats. They don't even have the desire to go outside. Maybe since he doesn't use a litterbox outside, he may not want to use it inside. You could try different litter that the texture more closely resembles dirt outside. Those are my only suggestions.
