I did some research on this after I read it. Here is one thing I found:

How long can I expect my FeLV-infected cat to live?
It is impossible to accurately predict the life expectancy of a cat infected with FeLV. With appropriate care and under ideal conditions, infected cats can remain in apparent good health for many months, although most succumb to a FeLV-related disease within two or three years after becoming infected. If your cat has already experienced one or more severe illnesses as a result of FeLV infection, or if persistent fever, weight loss, or cancer is present, a much shorter survival time can be expected.

I am sorry to say I do not think there is a cure.

Page I found this info on is here:

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)

Best of luck to you, and sorry to hear your cat has this.

Best Wishes.

Seeing as you had a positive test followed by a negative, I'd suggest you have the Veterinarian test again. If it's still negative, a full multi-diagnostic panel and a full thyroid panel would be in order. Your cat could have a hyperactive thyroid gland, diabetes, or some other disorder that can successfully be treated if you catch it in time.
