Confused My boo is not happy!

My cat is very prone to bladder infections and Urinary Infections. He was having one episode a year and is now three in one. I don't know what to do. I have him on fancy feast canned food. My Veterinarian told me this was high in fluids so I continued... He doesn't drink a lot of water so my Vet told me to force feed him with a siringe. He does not like that a bit. He is on anibotic as of this morning. He is very mad at me right now... I'm trying my hardest to make him better but he still groans when he stands and can't urinate and he's not eating either. What else do I do. In the past I have taken him to the Veterinarian to get a quick fix, injection and sometimes cathyter. Please, my pocket book can't take anymore. What can I do? Someone please help me and esspecially, boo.

I'd get a second opinion from another Veterinarian. Urinary acidifiers may be in order, as well as a change in food. At this point, the Veterinarian might also need to do a culture and sensitivity to find out why the antibiotics aren't getting rid of the infection. You might also need to find out if your cat's immune system is compromised in some way.

You might also ask your Veterinarian if it's ok to replace some or all of you cat's water with chicken or vegetable broth, and if so, do you need to use low sodium broth. He might be more willing to drink broth than water.
