Default Furless patch near mouth

Hi everyone~

I'm hoping someone can help me out and tell me if this sounds serious!

My kitty (I'm not entirely sure of her age, but I'd say 10+ years) has a furless patch of skin below her mouth, running along her jaw. There's no puss or anything, it's dry.. but there are a few pin-sized red spots and it seems slightly swollen. It just because really noticeable the past couple days and I've been wondering if I should bring her to the Veterinarian.. I'm not sure if she's just scratching at it or it's some sort of infection?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. =^_^=

I'd keep an eye on it. If he/she is irritating it, maybe a salve would help. Now if it gets worse, bigger, whatever, I'd be headed for the Veterinarian. That's my two cents worth.

It's me again. I was watching my two cats and it dawned on me that they rub up against things with that very area you are concerned with. Maybe she has been rubbing, or 'chinning' as I call it, way too vigorously. Maybe she rubbed on something that might have irritated that area and made it itchy. More itch, more rub and so on. However, as I said, I'd watch it for getting infected.
