broken jaw

my catcame home in a state his mouth all swollen jaw hanging and he was drooling. the Veterinarian say a car hit him and broke his jaw. he had the jaw wired today and the bill will be £500! the Veterinarian said sucess is usually good...does anyone have any experience of this?
