Complications after spaying

About two weeks ago I had my cat spayed. She seemed fine at first, moving about the house, eating, and using her litter box as usual. However, now she is not well. She stopped moving at all (never moving from her bed, not even to use the litter), she can barely stand, she was not eating until I started giving her food and water by syringes as recommended and provided by my Veterinarian, and her heart rate is very rapid. I took her back to the Veterinarian as soon as I first noticed these problems (which was 3 days ago). The Veterinarian tested her for feline infectious and leukemia viruses, both negative, and gave her an extensive blood test showing that she may have some sort of an infection or complication with the internal sutures though showing no physical signs. The area around the insicion is normal, no lumps, redness, or any swelling. The Veterinarian didnt actually confirm that she knew exactly what was wrong and sent me home with a pain killer and an antibiotic, which I have administered as I was directed. It seems that she is not getting any better, and in fact, worse by the day. Im very worried and dont know what to do. Please help me if you have any answers/suggestions. Thank you.

My first thought would be infection. How long has your cat been on the antibiotics?

My second thought would be kidney issues - anesthesia is rough on them. When they did the blood work, did they check for kidney values? How about liver values?

Complications from a spay in a cat of any significant degree is uncommon and several days after the fact is very unusual. Without knowing anything about the lab work hard to comment. If internal sutures a problem there should be swelling at suture line and pain. If not probably not suture reaction. With cat in the condition you describe you need better answers which may require more diagnostics.

PawsitivePet is correct kidney issues and infection are possiblities but should have shown on blood work if they performed any degree of blood work.

Surgical sites must be kept clean and the cat must be prevented from accessing the area to prevent irritation, infection, and/or removal of the stitches or other material that was used to close the incision.
