Unhappy Need advise for my poor puppy!

I have a 1 yr old Lab, Maggie. About 3 weeks ago she came down with a Bacterial Infection which caused terrible diarreha that looked like water but containing a good deal of blood, also caused dehydration. The diarreha was so bad it was actually just dripping out of her everywhere she walked. We went to the emergency hospital and was glad we did - it could've progressed to vomiting blood and she might not have made it through the night! Very scary! She spent the night at the hospital and then the next two days with her regular Veterinarian under observation. She was pretty mopey for a couple days but has rebounded back to her normal goofy puppy self!

However, when she was sick she had a TERRIBLE smell about her - it's just a really "sick" smell is all I can discribe it as. It didn't smell like diarrhea, it just smelled "sick". This smell hasn't gone away even though she's been off of the antibiotics for 2 weeks. Even when I pet her on the head my hand then smells like this terrible smell! Also, I think I may be noticing some weight loss, and her gums and tounge seem lighter in color than normal. Her stools are solid until the very end, at which point there is a small amount of diarrhea (not the watery kind like before, more like "normal" diarrhea). She's been off the antibiotics for 2 weeks and is acting completely normal and eating/drinking normally. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Maybe we didn't quite get rid of all the bacteria?

I've also heard that bad odor and weight loss can be a sign of canine diabetes - but I thought this was rare in young dogs...

Any help would be great!!! I'm at a loss and don't know if I should just be giving her more time to recover or if we should head back to the Veterinarian! Or if these could be symptoms of a bigger problem! I'm a worried Mommy!
