My dog's mental health

We moved (two years ago) from a privacy-fenced backyard to a farm where my dogs are in a chain-link fenced dog run. My male dog, 4 years old, continually runs the perimeter of the fence. He's lost quite a bit of weight, but all that running around will do it...and other than that symptom, he's eating well, he plays well with us and with the other dogs. I'm worried that he's acting out trauma of some sort -- anyone have a similar experience?
