Smile What is Rickets in puppies?

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this board. I have found it very interesting and helpful. I need some information and advice. We just purchased a Great Dane puppy about a week ago. He is 10 weeks old. I have noticed that his front legs shake sometimes and his left one doesn't look quite right. We took him to the Veterinarian today and he said that he has Rickets and gave him a calcium supplement and hopefully this will keep it from getting worse. Can anyone tell me more about this condition and is there anything else I can do?
Thanks,
Trudy

Default hi trudy!

I have a case similar to your puppy.. In order for the calcium to be absorbed, your puppy needs vitamin D ( sunlight) . hope it may help you..
