Sounds like mild diarrea. Sure call the Veterinarian, might tell you what to give it, your Veterinarian knows your dog's history better then us..

If it's diarrea, try feeding boiled chicken breast chopped into cooked white rice, at a ratio of one part chicken to 3 parts rice. Feed this for 3-5 days, or until the stools are back to normal. If the diarrhea worsens or does not improve, then you should take the dog to the Veterinarian.
If it really is "slimy" of sorts, it might have something to do with your dog's anal glands. As such... it'd be a good idea to take your dog to Veterinarian to have them checked out. |

My dog has had several "diarhea" problems from time to time (she has diarhea every time we go out of town even for a day due to the stress of not being with us). Our Veterinarian recommended going 24hrs with no food, to give her system a break, and then feed her a mix of boiled ground beef and white rice (a bland diet) for 2 days and then start mixing it back in with her regular food. If her stool doesn't return to normal while on the bland diet they recommended bringing her in with a stool sample. But generally the bland diet seemed to return her to normal! Don't know if that helps but it's always good to check with the Veterinarian!

When these happen to my dogs..
I do one of two things. You can give them a table spoon of canned pumpkin (no spices) Or a half of an Immodium AD chewable.(I keep these handy all the time Just suggestions... Pumpkin is used in the BARF and RAW diets. It help the stool stay solid as well as having other beneficial nutrional factors. Immodium speaks for itself. Hope this helps |

The "slimy" description reminds me of my old Muttley. She was allergic to eggs and everytime she ate eggs in any form (French Toast even) she would get "slimy" stool. The Veterinarian explained that the "slimy" was mucous. Nothing would work except a trip to the Veterinarian and a shot. Needless to say I was very careful with eggs and Muttley.
