In my search for treatments and things to make Piglet stronger for his fight against cancer I found this site. I have been reading the posts and feel like you are all as crazy in love with your pets as I am with mine. Piglet has been my baby for nearly 15 years. He is a teeny chihuahua/yorkie mix. I have been bracing myself for years now as he has aged but finding out he has cancer was a shock. He is so extremely healthy and active. I can't begin to imagine life without him. Just does not seem like a possibility. He is too old for the Veterinarian to try chemo and I would not want to put him through that anyway. I have been looking into natural/herbal treatments and am finding some hope in those areas. If anyone has any experience treating canine lymphoma with non-chemo, natural methods please pass any information you have my way. I am determined to get Piglet to his 15th birthday and beyond. I read one website by a man whose dog was given 6 months to live by the Veterinarian and he treated naturally and dog was still alive and very healthy 14+ months later. I am hoping and praying for similar results here.

My dog is about 2 years old or so. He's a mutt. Today I took him out and everything went fine until he got loose from his collar and ran off into our woods. I found him within a matter of five minutes and got him inside the house. When I tried to feed him, he wouldn't eat anything (which is common when my wife isn't in the house). So I gave him a mini sandwich that I knew he would eat with mesquite turkey, mozzarella, and a bun that had poppy seeds on it. Just a few minutes ago he got up to walk towards me and his legs are going every which way, and he can hardly walk. He looks kind of like a gazelle or a horse that has just been born and is trying to get its legs under it. Is it what I gave him to eat or could he have gotten a hold of something poisonous in the woods? Help, please!

I own a pug, 3 months old. She is so cute and very active. The only problem is she is suffering from cold. She cough and sneeze often. Give me a good solution to save her.

he has never even had an accident in the house. this past week, he has woken up from his spot on both the bed and couch for me to find a giant wet spot where he was laying.

this guy is showing no signs of ill health. he's eating well, loving exercise, not sluggish or tired, not excessively drinking, no visible blood in urine, not urinating frequently.

today, i had to leave him alone in the house for 6 hours and no accident but tonight after i had let him out several times since i had been home, he settled down to sleep on the couch for maybe a half hour and peed during that time. he doesn't at all seem to know that he is doing it.

everything that i have read about urinary incontinence doesn't seem to fit.
cushings disease, old age, diabetes, excessive water consumption, spinal cord injury, bladder infection

does anyone have any ideas??

I have a 14 year old dalmation. She is spaded and has always been healthy. About 3 days ago she started getting really sick. She wasnt eating and somtimes lost her balance, now she cant even move herself. She just lays around breathing hard in pain. Its sad, she just lays awake and just stares at me. Last week she was running around and mooching food from the kitchen table, as always. She hasnt really eaten at all for the past few days, and i cant seem to get her to eat or drink water.

I took her to the Veterinarian, but got no real answers. Just the "yeah your dog is old" "arthitus" "showing some liver problems". They said her temperature was fine, no fever, but she does have a runny nose. She also has infected ears that need flushing. Nothing to explain(to my knowledge) the sudden astrophe of all 4 of her legs and decreased appetite. The only thing i could guess is maybe she ate something she wasnt suppose to. If anyone can give me any other sorts of guesses that would really help.

We have a beautiful 10 1/2 year old Boxer cross Whippet bitch called Stella who is a much loved family pet.

Appart from an occasional twinge of arthritis Stella has no other health problems, she will still enjoy a long walk, and is generally a very happy dog. Recently she has developed a condition which is making her life very miserable, and uncomfortable. and we hoped that someone may be able to offer some advice.
The symptoms are that she will run to the toilet every few minutes, sometimes she does not get to the door in time, and then she struggles to wee, and when she does it is often just a dribble.

Following consultations with the Veterinarian, including a scan, an ex ray and a thourough examination the Vet is unable to offer too much hope. All of the procedures that he has carried out has eliminated virtually all of the treatable conditions, and crucially He says that every time he sees Stella that her bladder is full. With virtually all infections and irritations the opposite happens, i.e the irritation makes you go even when there is nothing to go with.

There are no tumours, no polips, no obvious infections, she was cathatarized (Very easily). The Veterinarian said we could send her for an MRI scan, but he is unaware of any other treatable condition that we could find. His favoured theory is that the arthritus in her spine is causing nerve damage wich is then preventing bladder control. Her bladder then fills up and it leaks under pressure, oviously this also causes a lot of discomfort.

We do have confidence in the Veterinarian, but he admits that he is running out of positive ideas. He says we may be able to treat the condition with anti inflamatory's, but so far these have not worked too well.

We would hate to lose Stella, but we cannot see her in constant misery with no quality of life, and we just hoped that someone may be able to offer a realistic solution for her problem.

My Saint Bernard (10 YEARS OF AGE) Was In Excellent Health Until Mid September. Started With Having Hard Time Getting Up Then He Started To Bump Into Things. Started A Swagger Walk Like He's Equilibrium Was Off. It Progessively Got Worse. Then He Started Having A Rocking Motion When Sitting There. And Now He Has A Major Head Tilt To The Extent Of Not Even Wanting To Get Up At All. He Just Lays On His Left Side All Day And All Night. Poops And Pees Onself When We Try To Get Him Up And Out The Door. We Have To Hold His Head Up To Eat And Drink. Had Spinal Tap, Ct, Tick Panel, Cbc And Nothing Is Coming Up. Doc's Know Nothing. Now, It Seems Like He Isn't Opening His Mouth Very Far. Instead Of Big Gulps, It's Small And Stiff Like. What Is Going On??? Doc Said Yes To Bad Hips And Probably Idopathic Vestibular Condition Which Usually Goes Away In 2-4 Weeks. Just Wait And See If It Goes Away. Help Bc It Is Hard To Take Care Of Huge Saint Bernard When He Isn't Even Walking Or Even Trying To Get Up Or Eat. Thank You So Much For Your Time. Kristna
