I have an 6 month old American Bulldog names Oreo. He was very healty dog had all his shot and wormed. About 5 days ago he just stopped eating and it not like him to stop eating...He loves to eat...So me and my husband was worried about him cause he started having naursa and we took him to the Veterinarian and he said he had a cold and gave him some meds...but he isn't any better, I think he is going to die. He still hasn't ate or haven't been drinking any water..and he still have naursa and dirrea. He just got sick over night and hasn't got better yet? Anyone that may know what has happened to him please write me back. I know i have done everything for him and he isn't gonna make it but i would like to know what happened to him to make him sick. Thanks

First of all, dogs don't get "colds" I personally would try to find a different Veterinarian. This one doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. Dogs can go several days without eating, but the not drinking is very worrisome. He can get dehydrated and that is serious. Try to find a different Veterinarian and get him in as soon as possible. amanda |

My 11 month old boxer girl became sick 7 days ago. Itching around face, vomiting, not eating or drinking, black poop until she quit because she had nothing in her stomach and very lethargic!!! After 5 nights at the Veterinarian and $2000 he has sent me to a specialist this Friday. He had no answers except for that it was not everything he'd tested for. You need to get your dog on IV's for fluid and food for sure but if I find out anything I'll write back ASAP.

You need to go to a different Veterinarian. In March my 6 1/2 year old mixed breed dog all of a sudden quit eating. I took him to the Veterinarian and they kept him over the weekend. They put him on fluids, did blood tests and his liver enzymes were elevated. They sent him home thinking he would recover better at home. He still would not eat for me and his stools were black and tarry. 1 wewk after his hospitalization, he had gone so far downhill we did'nt even get in to have the liver biopsy done. We had him out down...if we hadn't, he would not have made it another 2 hours and I couldn't bear to see him so miserable. Please take your dog to another Veterinarian and get a second opinion. Dogs don't quit eating for no good reason. I hope yours can be fixed. Please let us know what happens.
