Default Old Lab in trouble walking and in pain

I'm new to this site but was wondering if anyone can help until I can get my dog to the Veterinarian on Monday? He is 11 years old and suddenly began limping very heavily with the front legs. He also wimpers when he has to get up and some times his front legs will not support him. He has been showing some signs of limping but usually after exercise or a day in field. He is mostly just a house dog these days and has a nice big dog bed so nothing I can think of that would have caused injury. It has gotten very bad this evening and I'm just trying to figure out what could be happening. Thanks to any response!

I am not a Veterinarian, but it sounds like your dog may have a slipped disc, or some other problem with his spine near his shoulders. I wish you luck. Please keep us posted and let us know what the Veterinarian says.

Default He's doing better today!

Thanks for the feedback. As the evening progressed it seemed that his pain was coming more from his chest and neck area. He could not lift his head and when he would try he would whine. Today he is doing much better, no crying and he has followed me outside a few times today. I will get him into the Veterinarian on Monday and hopefully determine what is going on. Thanks again and yes I will post how things turn out.

Please take it seriously and go to the Veterinarian asap. I just had to put my 7 year old black lab put to sleep yesturday. She had a herniated disc and it ruptured and caused full paralysis. Had I gotten her in early and had an xray I could have saved her. Please do it in the name of my baby girl Roxy. Jill
