Default Cherry eye in Eng. bulldog pup

My 5 month old lil bully developed cherry eye this evenning. I know it is that because I looked it up and saw pictures of it on the internet. What I need to know is can it go away without surgery? Can creams make it go away.. I have no clue about this condition. I did know it was something that bulldogs tend to develop. If you have had any experience with this condition please tell me what happened. Is it painful?

Thanks

Muck Gal

Idea

I found this website... maybe it will help?

http://www.eyevet.info/cherry.html

This article focuses on Cherry Eyes, but the website itself is geared towards eyes of dogs and cats.
