Default Dalmatian shakes her head after barking

Hi,
I have a 9yo dalmatian who doesn't bark very often but when she does she shakes her head immediately afterwards.
I'm wondering whether this could be a sign of an ear infection or other illness (or is this normal?).
This is regardless of whether she wears a collar or not.
Any ideas?
Thx,
Funkyrx

If her ears are infected they will be red inside, probably swollen, smell bad, and have a lot of debris. They may itch or be painful.

But considering that your dog is a Dalmation, and so many of them have hearing problems, it could be possible that she's partially or completely deaf in one ear. If that's the case, barking may cause the ear to feel funny, or it may sound funny. So she shakes her head.

And, considering her age, maybe it's a bad tooth? Barking might cause an infected or loose tooth to hurt momentarily.
