Default UTI - New Puppy

Hi. I've had my new puppy (a Corgi) about 1 week - he's now 9 weeks old. He's been great so far -very little crying, few accidents - but this morning he threw up a bit (clear, stomach acid?) and since then he's been peeing quite a bit (small amounts, straining). I'm pretty sure he's got a UTI/bladder infection. Does anyone know if this should be considered an "emergency" (he's well worth any money, but I don't want to be stupid either) - or if there is anything I could give him (I thought of cranberry juice but I don't have any...) in the meantime? It is Saturday evening... Veterinarian opens Monday. Cancelled my evening plans of course... Thanks in advance.

That's a tough call. A UTI infection can quickly move "upstream"' and become a kidney infection, which is quite serious. And at the very least, your puppy is going to be miserable until the infection is dealt with.

On the other hand, 9 week old pups do piddle often. Some of them seem to piddle small amounts every 10 minutes. And there's nothing wrong with them at all.

Your best bet is to put in a call to your Veterinarian and ask for advice.

Default New Puppy

He is getting used to new surroundings, food, water, noises, etc. All are stressful, some mentally, some physically. Pet Flora will help with the transition. However, you might want to first put him on Canine Comfort. Both are available online from my company Vitality Science.
