Please help

I have a pit bull shes around 9 years of age.She has been trying to cough something up its like she has a fur ball in her throat and its like shes keeps on trying to throw up and a bunch of white spit comes out and it happens every 10 mins.DO any of you have a idea what it can be if so please post thank you.
