Sore Paw Advice

Hi - I have a chow chow named Chili and she has a sore paw. My husband noticed her licking it alot this morning and when I looked at it, it seemed fine. Tonight when I looked at it again, it looks alittle red (I think from constant licking). I am making an appointment with her Veterinarian tomorrow to have it checked but I was wondering if anyone had suggestion on how I can make her feel more comfortable tonight?
