Distemper

The Veterinarian thinks that the 8 month old Chihuahua mix that I brought home from the pound on 3/14 has distemper.

I have been watching for seizures.

When she is sleeping, she will wake up suddenly and starts breathing very rapidly or gasping for air. This continues for about 20-30 seconds. She will then fall back to sleep.

Is this a seizure or something else? Is it related to the distemper?
