i just bought a 7 week old puppy from a friendly looking family today. they said he hasn't had any of his shots yet. but ok i could just get them tomorrow or something. its a "full breed" chihuahua. it looked kind of week but i thought it was because it was late and he was tired. so i brought him home he keeps laying down and fallin asleep. when i checked where he was laying down i found these tiny stringy worms. i don't know what to do. he hasn't eaten anything he drinks a little water and he's sleeping right now. i can't take him to the Veterinarian tomorrow because its a holday here and all of them are closed. please help me. sorry for the long post just really worried i'm planning on not sleaping tonight jus to keep a eye on him.

I'm sorry I wasn't around over the weekend, but, I do hope your pup made it and you were able to get him to the Veterinarian today.
It's likely he needs to be wormed, the Veterinarian will give the proper medication for that. As well, make sure the pup stays hydrated and that he eats frequently, even if you have to syringe food into the pup. A pup that little cannot go long without eating. Additionally, 7 weeks is too young for a puppy to be sold. Pups should be with their mom and littler until at least 8 weeks old. I do hope all is well. |
