Default Prayers for Freya

Freya is my daughter's beautiful two and a half year old Rhodesian Ridgeback. As I type this message Freya is fighting for her life. She has baffled the expert vets to whom she has been referred and they had to post on a global veterinary forum to try to reach a diagnosis. It's a long and complicated story which began on 16th April when the local Veterinarian thought she had dilated cardiomyopathy. This was ruled out early on in the investigations but the cause of her bicavity effusions has proved elusive to date. We are now at a possible diagnosis of lymphangectasia and a severe case to boot. Her condition deteriorated so dramatically over the Bank Holiday weekend that she was re-admitted to hospital and I have today given my consent for her to receive drug therapy that might just prove to be a miracle cure for her. I beg your indulgence in offering a prayer for her. She truly deserves it. One of her vets has described her as an ambassador of her breed because of her absolutely superb behaviour, cooperation and personality.

Oh goodness, I'm terribly sorry Freya is going through this.

We will certainly keep Freya in our prayers and hope this drug therapy is indeed a miracle.

Please keep us updated.

Thank you PawsitivePet. I will most certainly keep you updated. I am currently wearing my ipod round my neck playing a slide show of photographs of Freya as she has travelled this road.

Default Prayers for Freya

The nurse has just called to tell me that Freya is taking her medication three times a day and currently breathing well. It's far too early to determine whether she is going to be the lucky one with a truly positive response to the medication and that elusive 'miracle cure'. She is a trail blazer regardless as the medication is an 'off label' treatment.

Smile Freya is currently stable and doing well

Freya has a check up at the veterinary hospital tomorrow but is currently enjoying the best health she's been in for months.

Default Freya is maintaining her better health...

I am delighted to report that Freya is still doing well.

We do know that she has a pleural effusion but it is not adversely affecting her so that we are leaving it alone at present.

She has an intermittent cough and there are times when her appetite is not good but she is now truly enjoying her daily outing and clearly demonstrating vastly improved energy levels .

She has her own website at Freya - Our Poorly Puppy - Home which includes her daily blog and numerous photos plus her diagnosis and a resume of her treatment. She also has her own fan club . . . http://www.new.facebook.com/groups.p...id=16986371682

There are also photos available here . . . Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

I hope you and yours are doing well.
