Confused My New Dog

I just rescued a dog from the local shelter. She is a Minature Pincher Mix and about 1-2 yrs old. They told me she was Veterinarian checked and in good health, but I am starting to wonder, because she has a weezy, sneezy, kinda cough, a runny nose and she is loosing hair very badly. Not only am I worried about her, but my 14 wk old Jack Russell I've had since birth and I don't want her to get sick. I'm not a wealthy person and I really can't afford alot of Veterinarian bills. So should I keep the rescue dog and risk my other one's health or take her back to the shelter. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't care about my new dog (Twinkie) but my Suki has been my baby for a while now. I would be heart broken if something were to happen to her. I'm so glad I found a place where i can talk to others who understand that animals are people too.........

I you for being so generous with your time and money to adopt a pet!

OK, what I would do. Take it to a Veterinarian. It sounds like the pet simply has a cold and a case of mange. Both are contagious so separate them right away.

Mange is caused by various species of mites. There are three common types: Demodectic, Cheyletiella and Sarcoptic. The last one sometimes is accompanied by cold symptoms, so this is my best guess.

Since mange is "mites" a Veterinarian can see it fast with a microscope, and it is treatable.

That's my take on it anyway.

Good luck!

I would take the dog back to the place where you got her and make them pay for the Veterinarian bills. It is obvious that the dog must have caught something from other dogs in the shelter. And if the dog has something it can be highly contageous to other dogs.
Keep up on it!
Good luck

Found that your pet got sick.. Have you saw a good veterinary doctor? Because some doctors will not care about pets due to money. About your pet, it seems it will not be in a bad condition. Because rabbies diesease might be affected to your pet. So you can check with that and proceed.. It will get cure soon.. Take care of your pet..
