"suspicious "freckles" on my silky terrior

I have a silky terrior who is 8 years old. I have been noticing "freckles" appearing on her tummy but yesterday there was 1 that is about the size of a pea. The others are light brown but this one is very dark and this morning when I checked it it looks like it is peeling off. Any idea what this might be?
