Default Anyone know what this is? White spots on plecos fins?

Well, I got a new pleco a couple of days ago and hes just now come out of his hiding spots and i've noticed white sort of lumps on his fins. Theyre kind of all clumped together, its not ick (gone through that before.. kinda wish that were the problem) I really don't want to take the poor little guy back, they'll just kill him but I don't want him to kill the other 3 fish that are in there. Its a 55gal tank with a kissing gourami and two other smaller fish, not sure what they are. I've just now started building the tank back up, everyones still doing fine so far (even with Lumpy, thats his name now lol) I don't have a quarantine tank, and really don't want to go buy one... my husband would probably kill me at this point =). If I leave it alone do you think it'll go away on its own?

The white spot appearance on fins is usually caused by ich parasites under the skin of fish.

It's probably white sore. Many things can cause sores on fish such as fights with other fish, scraping on sharp rocks, and small wounds that get infected and grow bigger.

You can take away all the rough stones at your aquarium to avoid getting hurt of your fish.
