i am really concerned about this issue since my cat was diagnosed with kidney disease about six weeks ago, right around the time that this "cat food mess" broke out. My tessie is 16 years old and the Veterinarian siad it was more likely her age that brought on this complication. She is pretty stable and hasn't needed any subcutaneous fluids in about two weeks, she's eating a little better but has lost weight, she's not very active but i guess arthritis is really holding her back, i am hoping to god that it wasn't the food that made her this way.

I do hope Tessie continues to show improvement and is fully recovered soon. I'm wondering if she was eating any of the foods on the recall list?

I think I'm going to lose my second kitty, Ranger, to this. :-( He's showing signs of kidney failure. This whole thing sucks.

I think there may be a class action law suit in the makings. Be sure you document, save all involved paperwork, it may come in handy.

I too have been affected by the tainted pet food. My beloved cat Hershey was diagnosed Jan 19 with 100% kidnet failure. She wwas only 6 1/2 years old. She responded well to the sub Q fluids for awhile. Then became very weark again. She passed March 17. Menu Foods has refused to help us because we don't still have the can that contained the poisoned food. There was no recall back in January, why would we save an empty cat food can. U have been in contact with 2 attorneys who are filing class action suits. Good luck to any one else who has to deal with these people. Thay have nocompassion for the loss suffered. One of their phone people yelled at me and hung up on me when I asked about retribution. She said they had done nothing wrong!! I would say that putting rat poison in pet food is wrong
