Thank you for giving me the opportunity to expand on what I wrote!

Gee, you are quick to bash my knowledge, justifying it with your own credentials. Much of the funding for the books you studied comes from the pharmaceutical and pet food industry. And what agenda do they have? You don't think they might slant the materials do you? There is a BIG difference between learning what is required to get certified or degreed and real knowledge. Cutting edge science constantly rewrites prior knowledge.

The AHVMA (H for holistic) has about 1,000 members. They treat the actual cause of disorders with healing remedies as opposed to conventional "wisdom" that administers pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceuticals do not heal, they merely drive the symptom deep until it is out of site. As soon as the medication is stopped the symptom reappears. This method condemns the user to a lifetime of toxic medication. Eventually the immune systems atrophy to a point they may never be viable again.

The entire natural health and health food industry has moved rapidly forward because people were no longer willing to accept that the multi-billion dollar food industry had their back. Such exposes have been aired on 60 minutes, and in documentaries like "Super Size Me".

Hopefully, you will reassess your training and investigate what constitutes real healing. Check out the AHVMA. It represents true healing.

I disagree with this. If not for Pharmaceuticals I personally would be dead right now.

When I was a teenager I caught HepC from a blood transfusion after a motorcycle wreck. I did not know I had it till I was in my mid 30s. The alpha-inferon "Pharmaceuticals" I was prescribed had to be injected daily. It's been many years since then, and my annual blood work shows that I am still Virus free.

Also, Pharmaceuticals must pass tests that are not present in most "supplements". vitamins and the like ARE no doubt good for you, but they just are not scrutinized like drugs are.

If I had tried to treat my hepC holistically I have zero doubt I would be dead right now.

Here's an example "Enzyte" (you know the commercials, Smilin' Bob?) If a supplement (which is all it is, vitamins and what not) really did what enzyte claims it would be more popular then cialis. But it's not, in fact the very ad itself is a testament on just how far unregulated dietary supplements are allowed to go on their claims.

I am not saying that natural cures do not work, what I AM saying is that they are not "put under a microscope" like drugs are. And I really don't buy the whole argument that the Pharmaceutical industry is just one big conspiracy.

I might also point out that ALL things are basically natural. A Black Widow's venom is a complex deadly toxin, but by today's definition of "natural" it would fall into that category. (untouched by man, straight from nature).

Drugs are made from chemicals derived from plants, elements, compounds, animal sources, metals etc etc (depending on the drug). But ALL the ingredients come from some source in nature. Unless you can summon something from the great beyond all things have their basis in nature.

The vitamins I take are oval and have a stamp on them. I would like to see how that occurred "naturally".

The argument of natural vs drugs is almost like arguing "tested and approved VS unknown or poorly tested".
