Confused Greenies: What do you Think of Them???

Hi Everyone!

I would like your opinion on Greenies: Dog Treats... I want to start giving my Sadie one everyday because her Nylabone can't get the tarter off her back teethes. She had gotten one from a friend of ours last week to try out, and she loved it. I know they can be pricey but in the PetEdge catalog you can get an Xtra Value Packs 18oz - Teenie, Petite, Regular, Large and Jumbo for $16.99 for 1 bag!!! They all have different count numbers. I have to get Petite which the weight ranges in 15-25lbs. The count is 30 bones in a bag. The Teenies you get 65 count - 5lbs to 15lbs dogs, Petite count is 30 15lbs to 25lbs dogs , Large 12 count- 50lbs-100lbs dogs , Jumbo 6 count -100lbs and greater dogs. You can get them both catalog and online. PetEdge: Greenies Xtra Value Pack . Hope to get feedback on this topic. Thanks, Sadie’s Mom

The only thing I know is that Anserson Cooper on CNN did a story about these once. Apparantly dog were chocking on them? Then I heard that it wasn't true. I don't know what's up with that.

Talking Greenies

What I heard in the past was that the Greenies were not 100% digestable and dogs die because it would obstruct their intestines. Now they improved them better this year and they are 100% more digestable. Check this website out about this product! Greenies.com - New GREENIES®: Easy to digest

The 4 high-quality, easily digested proteins ingredients that they use for the new and improve Greenies are:

Gelatin
Wheat protein isolate
Soy protein isolate
Sodium caseinate

I gave one to Sadie and she was fine.

I used to give my dogs Greenies, and they sure did love them. But I also encountered problems. Instead of chewing them up they'd bite chunks off and swallow them. Then the chunks would come back up a few hours later, and it was a mess. So I stopped.

Now they have Nylabones and I give them raw, meaty bones from the butcher shop to help clean their teeth.

Thaxs for sharing. Sadie has 2 Nylabones and these Greenies. I started her w/ the Greenies not to long ago and she seems to be doing good. Although when she gets 1 she eats it fine but sometimes the next morning, she won't eat her breakfast. Which is fine because then she is watching her weight. The greenies don't come back up with Sadie because she takes little bites. She is a mini poodle!

I have two dachshunds; a standard longhair named Oli, and a miniature longhair named Whizbang. Oli is a 4 year old, red, of impecable breeding, and a real love. Whizbang is a cream, so-so breeding, and a naughty brat. But he's only 9 months old, so he's still learning how to be good.
