My dogs crying?

Heyy everyone, im pretty much new here
But anyhow maybe you guys can help me out with my dog.
Shes a year and a half.
And for about a week now shes been just randomly yelping and crying.
(not the i want out or feed me typa' crying)
Its by far like a depressed maybe in pain whimpering.
Im thinking it has to do with her ears.
She seems to find them a lil irritating and then shakes her head when they hurt.
Thats my guess.
But she also just does this stress crying and yelps right when she wakes up or when shes walking around.
And then starts shaking like shes scared.
Shes a toy fox terrier.
I dont know whats up with this odd behavior.
It might be something small that i can handle before i rush to the Veterinarian.
I thought i'd get some others opinions, maybe one of you had a similar problem?

Kory, it does sound like Holly has an ear infection. If you haven't already, bring her into the Veterinarian to have her ears checked.
