Grieving And Loss - Pet Loss Did you loose a loved one? Many of us love our pets with all our hearts, they are our children, our friends and companions. Loosing them can hurt as strong and deeply as loosing a human. Love does not care what species you are. This forum is to remember our departed. Please post your best memories, pictures are fine, we will even allow short movies.

Well, I never thought I'd do this but here I am. I've been through a bout of breast cancer and sugery and lost my Father and Brother. But NOTHING has hurt like losing my 15 year 7 month Black Lab this past Saturday. He went at home which was good, but why do I feel like nothing has any joy for me right now? Yardwork, going out with friends, etc. is hollow. I have laughed once in a week. I'm nowhere like myself.

Thankfully I have another pup at home who is about a year and a half. Plus I have a wonderful, wonderful partner at home without whom I would never have been able to stand the last 9 months when my baby (whose name is "Boomer") was getting sick.

Anyone out there?

I lost my dog in March, he was 6 1/2 years old. I just lost my 13 year old cat Friday. I am sorry for your loss and understand exactly how you feel. There is a very good article in the Pet Loss section of this forum with tips on how to deal. If you need to talk, we are here. BTW, welcome to the forum.
