Default Lab with bad skin Allergies, help

Hello folks, im looking for help here bc I cant afford all the Veterinarian visits. I have a 6 yr old male lab with bad skin allergies, the Vet said he was allergic to fleas, action was taken and now the dog has no fleas, the problem persists. The Veterinarian prescribed my dog a steroid and a antibiotic and my dog feels and acts normal, happy, hungry, lively. until the meds run out, then all he does is lick and lick and irritate his skin. Im thinking he's allergic to his own saliva maybe? any ideas? questions? please help thanks in advance

Well, give him a bath everyday... clean his allergies always.

Your lab needs to take some Omega 3 fatty acids. These are very important for the skin and help decrease inflammation.

What test did the Veterinarian do to determine if your dog is really allergic to fleas? If it still persist after your have treated his fleas, probably his allergy is not due to fleas. Some instigator of skin allergies on dogs are fleas, environment and the food.

I would definitely try to get a second opinion, clearly the problem isnt getting better and this can be extremely unbearable for dogs to deal with. Ask another Veterinarian if you can work out a payment plan or something.
