Default love birds???

OK!!! We got my husband a love bird for father's day as he was very clear that was the bird he wanted... (150$ ouch!!)
Now I am not a big fan of birds, they carrie decises and stuff. Any tips on keeping these pretty little birds happy, we WILL be getting another one for this guy, just not yet.
Any and all tips are welcomed!
chris

clean cages, fresh food and water, offer friut and veggies, bathe them regularly, buy extra toys and change them out every now and then, handle frequently.
keep them out of drafts, keep nails and wings clipped. and see the Veterinarian at least once a year, twice is better....
